NORTH VERNON, Ind. - Two Jennings County residents have been jailed on felony drug charges. The incident began when Lt. Thomas Mellencamp of the Jennings County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 9.
The driver was identified as Jason Cutshall, 50, of North Vernon. Lt. Mellencamp allegedly located about 31 grams of suspected methamphetamine inside the car.
Information obtained during the pullover led JCSO to apply for and obtain a search warrant for a residence in the 920 block of East Buckeye St., in North Vernon.
Lt. Mellencamp executed the warrant and spoke with Lenora Robbins, 58, of North Vernon. While searching the residence, K-9 Creed supposedly discovered 34 more grams of meth, drug-related items, syringes, controlled substances, and articles commonly associated with the distribution of meth.
As a result of the investigation, Cutshall and Robbins were arrested and taken to the Jennings County Jail.
Both individuals are currently being held on the following preliminary charges:
- Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 2 Felony)
- Possession of Meth (Level 3 Felony)
- Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony)
- Possession of a Syringe (Level 6 Felony)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class A Misdemeanor)
All criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
